Fellows of the Academy

About our fellowship categories

Full Fellows in the Hong Kong Academy of the Humanities are recognized by their peers as senior scholars of the highest academic distinction, or eminent practitioners of the arts, and honored for their lifetime contribution to the humanities.

Early Career Fellows were originally invited into the Academy as junior fellows and appointed for a five-year, fixed period. This category was devised to recognize young scholars who show exceptional promise in their humanities discipline.

Associate Fellows are a new category designed to retain early career fellows who progress to mid-career, create a track for their advancement to senior rank, and promote succession planning of new leaders.

Overseas Fellows who were formerly based in Hong Kong have taken up posts at Beijing Normal University, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, The Ramsay Centre for Western Civilization in Australia, The University of East Anglia, The University of New South Wales, The University of Sydney, and Universite Jean Moulin Lyon 3.
